That isn't a het clown trait at all imo, that's something pastels do though ;)

I did notice actually. But I still have seen those capped heads more often in the het clowns than in normal pastels. My normal pastel has the same head as the one you produced.

I agree het clowns have head spots, all of mine have, but the pastel wipes it out.
At that point it becomes other markers you loook for, that I do not see on that snake at all.
Just personal opinion from having produced a bunch of het clown stuff.

#1 because its one of the nicest pastel males I think I have personally seen to date.....#2 to me, that's part of the fun of breeding (unlike most, I am not in it for the money, I'm in it for the fun so dinking and trying to prove out genes is fun to me)...#3 like I said that snakes has enough of a pronounced head stamp and enough remarkable blushing that I would take the gamble that he would prove out.....thus making him worth well more than $300 or the $160 I would have paid :)

But again, just me. I love my dinkers and if he were just a het is say hell no, but if I were the OP I would get him, find a pastel het or poss het clown female and at the WORST end up with really nice pastels and supers.....and at best, he proves!

NIce snake but it is 66% until bred and proven out.
    "Markers" aren't that reliable.

PS and currently het clowns are $150-200. Pastel 100% het clown males are $300-350 so if the OP wants to spend $300 they can get a pastel 100% het clown. Haven't seen any as nice as that male though....

Het clown markers are very reliable, if you've made as many as I have you'd change your mind pretty quickly.

While I haven't produced any, I have to agree. The clown gene tends to visually express itself in the hets.

Here is another picture of him. Colors are still a little off I believe.

I think it would be fun to prove something out. I have my adult pastel female and I will pick up a 100% het clown female in the future.
I would pay equal or more for a pastel male shipped, and the breeder is local, so take shipping off the total.

I like the little guy even if he is just a male pastel and I will be picking him up this weekend.

Cool that you've bought him. Do you have a lady lined up for him yet?

No planned marriages just yet. I will pick up a hatchling female 100% het clown later in the year and raise her up.

Awesome!!! Congrats!! You will have to do a future update to this thread when you breed him and let us all know howh does! :) There have been a few people on here who, a couple years later, have done updates and I love hearing how clutches turned out! Best of luck and most importantly HAVE FUN!! :)
