She will either warm up to it or she wont. They key is to go at HER PACE ONLY. Do not force anything.

    - Start with trying to calmly be in the same room for a period of time.

    - Move into being closer to the snake to "appreciate" how docile, pretty, and not dangerous an animal it is.

    - Sooner or later see if she will touch it's body.

    - Eventually she might want to hold it, and once she does she'll be hooked and in no time at all she will want her own snake.

GOOD LUCK, remember HER PACE ONLY.

no i never force it. if she is in the room i always let her know im going to get him out. i dont want to use him to scare people, he is rather small and i dont want to feel vulnerable.

    Baby steps.

Like a previous poster said, let her get used to your ball python on her own pace. Has she ever watched you handle and interact with your BP? Perhaps ask her to pet his back while you hold it's head away. If she got you the snake, then she clearly puts your joy over her fear. That's saying something. I think with time, she will get used to your BP.

Ball pythons are one of the most docile species of snake. They would rather ball up (hence their name) than strike.

she wont rub his back or anything, even if i hold his head away. she thinks ALL snakes are nasty. its sad really, but most thats the way it goes around here. most people are deathly afraid of snakes...she didnt even like my pet copperhead i caught a few years ago. no but really when they hear python it's a signal of a 15 foot snake eating a baby or something.
