Thank you guys so much. Grandma, Mom and I shed a lot of tears this morning.

I'm taking him in to be cremated today.

I'm so sorry, Bobba. I think it's really, really unfortunate how there are virtually no emergency or overnight reptile vets. I ran into this problem a couple years when our baby corn got into our rat cage, not a single emergency vet knew what to do for a snake. It was a miracle he survived the night to see a good vet. I really hope in the future that this gap gets filled, think of how many pets might be saved with knowledgeable care available at all hours. I guess this is the problem we face for choosing to be passionate about "non-traditional" or exotic pets.

The lack of qualified reptile vets is a real issue, I was lucky to find one at all where I live (he's 30min away), and there is no 24 hour vet.
I'm so sorry that you lost your baby, seek comfort in the joy he brought you, and that he had a good home while he was here.

That's true, there IS a lack of reptile-knowledgeable vets period, even during normal business hours. I've found a couple near or nearish to me so I can sometimes forget that not everywhere is so fortunate.

Thank you all. I just took him in for a private cremation. Still contemplating on an urn. I feel so much better knowing I'll be able to have a piece of him. He brought much joy to myself and my grandmother.

He was the one who eliminated the fear of snakes for many of my family members. He will always be in my heart

I got him last year in May off of kijiji. I was told he was 2 and a half, so he'd be 3 almost 3 and a half
