apologies- my reading comprehension abilities are not 100% tonight.

either way, it's definitely not a bad idea if you want to lay down a preventative layer of PAM. however, I'd confirm that you actually have mites before taking any further action. soaking is a good indicator that something might be amiss, but if you have mites they'll make themselves known before too long. best of luck.

well i think i did finally find mites......

I am ordering a can of PAM for the tank and a bottle of reptile releif for the snake. the only thing is i have a feeling it is going to come in friday. fedex doesnt come to my place till around 3-4ish. i am leaving for canada friday morning at 9 when i get off work so i wont be able to treat till sunday night. UGH. :breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out:

i do plan on treating for 2-3 times just to be 100% they are gone.

me too!!!!!! In fact, I take it one step further.....when I go to a show, I always bring my own carry container to transport the snake home in....I put some carefresh in the container the night before, and saturate it with PAM, so that by morning its dry. That way, there is even less chance of bringin a single stinkin mite home!!!

For now, clean the tank and furniture really well and use paper towel substrate. Change the paper towels every day while giving your snake a short soak. It is possible to be rid of mites with out the extra stuff but its a major pain. You have to stay on top of all of the steps.
