How long to be worried about refusal of prey?

This is not necessarily true. I have some in my collection who will switch back and forth between live and ft no problem. Perhaps they are the exception and not the rule. When a snake has been off feed for a long time, sometimes offering a few live can get them spurred on and started eating again.
In my experience, the rats don't really "scream" too long. All I get is a few little squeaks and its all over. They are very efficient predators...it's usually over and done with in about a minute, even when their strike is less than accurate.
