Yo friends
People drive me nuts! Northern Minnesota blows noone up here likes snakes it seems, my supervisor at my new job her family are snake family had a burm and boas balls all that and still have some so I can't kinda talk snakes with her or her daughters at work but they are the first girls I have met in real life that like snakes! Haha well unless you count my ex but demons aren't people

Re: Yo friends
I wish more people were open when it comes to reptiles as pets, especially snakes. Everyone dismisses it so quickly and its very aggravating. :( Last weekend I was telling my coworker at work about my bearded dragon and ball python and I went to pull up pictures on google to show him what they look like. I pulled up some images of bearded dragons first while explaining how friendly they are and of course the only image he looks at is the one with the bearded dragon's beard all poofed out in defense mode, and he's like "yeah that sure looks friendly.." ARGH. Of course if you saw a picture of an angry dog with its teeth showing no one would come to the conclusion that all dogs aren't friendly, but people seem to like to generalize reptiles that way.
The best was when I told him I had a ball python. As original as ever, the first thing to come out of his mouth is, "soooo that can like strangle you and eat you in your sleep right?" ......yep my ball python that might reach 6 feet at most is going to bust out of her luggage strapped tub and swallow me in the middle of the night.....SERIOUSLY PEOPLE LEARN A LITTLE MORE AND QUIT GOING ALONG WITH STEREOTYPES LIKE THEY ARE THE LAW OF THE LAND. Maybe if you took the time to open your mind and interact with reptiles yourself before assuming you know everything about them and spouting off ridiculous bologna you might discover that you actually enjoy them and that they can be wonderful and rewarding animals to work with.
AAANNNDDD cut rant. :)

Yo friends
Surprisingly I've yet to have the "omg isn't it going to eat you" card thrown at me yet

Re: Yo friends
I only have one friend "in real life" who is into snakes and I think he probly gets a little annoyed at How In To Them!! Iam lol. I love being able to talk to you guys about them and just chat in general about lifes little quirks. Def. My favorite forum.

Florida is too humid and has too many reptile laws for me. Id appreciate the heat though.

Bahaha, I think I interact more on this forum than I do in my "real" social life (and I'm hardly as active as some of the people on here  ). I actually forget how most people consider snakes to be unusual pets, and when the topic does come up I just list off all the reasons they're great (no smell, no noise, no house damage, once per week feeding, you guys already know the picture :P)
I've been pretty lucky though in that most of my friends didn't bat an eye when I started keeping reptiles, they've seen me do much stranger things. It's the encounters with the general public (small talk in waiting rooms, grocery store, work, etc) where I'm reminded the whole world doesn't love snakes
