I think maybe the child SHOULDN'T have been returned to the dad. If he's able to leave his child behind in favor of a snake, then I think this dude's priorities are seriously questionable. Isn't there a mom/grandparents/other more responsible family members to leave the kid with for now?

I mean, I love snakes too, but if I had a child they would definitely come first.

Anybody know how old the child was? Was this a very young kid, or one that's old enough to have this as a memory?
