Liquid? I have absolutely no idea what they gave your dog then. There are no oral liquid flea or tick products out there for dogs. There is one for cats though, but it only does fleas. The only liquid oral meds that I've heard of being given to shelter dogs are dewormers.

We don't seem to have a very heavy tick problem here, so we haven't noticed a difference with them and FL.

it was more so with fleas so we just completely got rid of it and started carrying all the advantage products. where i live in tennessee, we do get some people that live out in the country that have bad tick problems in the summer so we use advantix. tick collars are next to useless here if they're bad that year. you won't see any ticks from their head to a little past their shoulders, but from the torso back we still get ticks. advantix usually does the trick, then we usually use trifexis for the fleas and heart worms. if no tick problem, then just advantage multi.

get some alcohol and put it in a cap and on the dog put the cap on the tick and suffocate it and then it will pry off and twist the cap and it should work

Have you heard of Revolution? I've heard it's a really good flea & tick medication.
