    Nice. The iridescence even shows in the pics, they must be stunning in person in full light.

    No, the normal would have a 0% chance of passing on the gene, while the pied would have a 50% chance of passing on the gene.
    The punnett square would look like this (with one parent being Pp and the other pp) if "P" = pied and "p" = normal allele. Sorry I couldn't figure out how to get the parents' alleles on the top and side of the p. square where they belong.

    So we get 50% Pp and 50% pp, or 50% pied and 50% normal.

    A homozygous pied or super pied with 2 pied alleles (homo = same) would produce all pieds when bred to a normal. (PP x pp)

    Thanks! They really are stunning. Every time I see the male after a shed he is ridiculously black... like oil and very iridescent.
