I completely agree with you; great point! I'm just getting started, so I'm really just trying to build up a good base to work from. Once I establish a project/something I want to really focus on, I'll be more specific on what gene I'm looking for... When I asked if it was 'worth it', I meant were the prices good. :) And then when it was mentioned whether they would all fit into my collection and be beneficial, I realized it was just the Kingpin I really wanted, as I actually have a KillerBee on hold from Chris Searcy on here, and the Pastel isn't a looker, IMO. I'm still learning, and it's helping me a lot to get input from you all and learn how to make smart moves. :) I really appreciate it! :D

Good advice here. I started out very excited and bought many animals that I later realized I didn't "need". I sold a lot at a loss and reinvested. Very glad I did and took my time the second time around and got exactly what I wanted.
Let us know what you decide to do! :)

Wonderful point, and thank you! Right now I have (* are on hold and not technically in my possession yet, pending weather)
0.1 Pastel
0.1 Normal
0.1 Pied*
0.1 Spider*
0.1 Pewter*
0.1 Cinnamon*
1.0 Mojave
1.0 100% Het Pied
1.0 KillerBee*
1.0 Lesser*
Sooooo, I'm thinking the 0.1 Kingpin could fit nicely in my little snakey family......Eh? Ehhh? *nudge* :D

Slow and steady and being extra picky is a great root to building a a sokid foundation. It will also reflect in the prices youre abke to ask for the offspring. Many customers would be willing to pay a little more for quality.

Thank you for that :) So far *I think* I have very attractive animals and many from dependable breeders, all from places they were well cared for (which is really important to me... which is why I have bought 3 so far from Justin McBrayer of McBrayer Reptiles. He's not a 'big name' breeder, but a great and honest guy who really cares about his snakes and quality!). I do want to make sure that I am not just throwing anything together and/or out there. Just like I would want if I were buying, I want to strive for high quality over quantity. I'm not in it for the money anyway... I'm in it for the morphs and excitement of raising a healthy clutch successfully (not to mention seeing what comes out of the eggs... Sterlings, whaaat?? ;))! I know it seems like I have quite a few to start with... I'm putting a good bit of money into it and know I could very well 'lose' financially. But I am really eager to try different pairings... and most of them aren't even breeding sized yet ;) I really appreciate all of your input - it's ALL listened to :)
