How far is the show from Chicago, downtown Grant Park area?
I used to visit up that way once or twice a year (huge Halloween show in Rosemont every March). Haven't been in years and would like to make a mini vacation out of the trip.

Yeah I live very close to downtown. Its probably a 30 minute drive with no traffic. Not far at all :)

Just booked my hotel for next month!! :)

BTW...if you're going (and staying overnight), I'd think about booking your hotel now. The hotels tend to raise their rates as it gets closer. Last year I booked a week in advance (we decided to go last minute) and paid over $20/night MORE than the rate at which I just booked.

Anybody know what's going on Friday night this time around? In the past I've not taken Friday of work and just drove up either late Friday or early Saturday so I've always missed the Friday events. This year I'm taking Friday AND Monday off work (Monday is for recovery time!!) so I'll be there Friday in the afternoon sometime.
