Anyone see that guy Austin Stevens?

Saw an episode he did on the Burmese in Florida. I found it amusing he handled the burm with a hook but grabbed a copperhead earlier on with his hands

    Re: Animal planet aggrivates me..
Well, thanks to Animal Planet no matter how much i try to educate people my family still thinks keeping my 5 ball pythons is animal hoarding and think the ASPCA will be taking them from me. They still think my 5 foot ball python is going to grow 16 feet and constrict me to death and think they are a danger to me and my fiancè's future children. And my mom still thinks snakes are evil and devilish because of how they are portrayed in movies and tv shows. Im religious and all but how can anyone in their right mind believe a certain species of animal is evil or bad luck? Thanks to TV, my family and friends think i am crazy lol

The only person "scared" of snakes in y house is my grandpa. He won't hold them, but will stroke their back if I bring them near.

My mom doesn't mind my snakes at all. She loves them. Shes told me stories about when she was young and lived in Texas she swam with water moccasins and picked up a rattle snake. Yet.... She is terrified of the mice they eat....

Everyone is in my family. Most respect my snakes and know they are not as bad as they thought they were but no one ever held them except for a few friends. My fiance likes and tolerates them and does not mind my breeding plans but had never more then pet one. I have family members who will not come over anymore or even talk to me because of their sick fear of snakes. These animals have such a uneccesary bad reputation it makes me so angry people are not open to learn about them.

Maybe my family is just accepting, but I found if you didn't push them on people, they'd slowly become curious enough to become intrigued with my snakes.

Well... Animal Planet's motto is "surprisingly human". I think that says it all. They aren't really about the animals. They are about getting ratings. They will put programs on that get ratings. Appealing to people's fears will get ratings. Trying to educate people will not.
