Looks like a good start. Consider tho, comments above AND remember that a good logo should scale up and down (think biz cards or banners), look good in color or black& white and fit well into other marketing materials such as smaller size logos for FB/Twitter/websites. Think of logos you like or are easily recognizable and you'll know what i mean. What you have now would work on a website or flyer but that's about it. As far as Get Bit, if its catchy and makes you stand out, use it. That might even work better as a more prominent design element because its easier to remember and it makes a person curious

But as a prior design/art student, I would suggest always going graphic over detailed when designing logos and if you can solidify the whole design down to one or two colours, that generally works the best. You also want to consider what your logo will look like just on random objects/images, it should look good on its own but also on things like coffee mugs, t-shirts, and as a watermark on pictures. This would be a good first start but is definitely in need of a more cohesive design.

I love the text but like the others, I don't like the "Get Bit" part of the logo. I agree that it will drive non-snake lovers away. Maybe try "Get Tagged" instead? Most non-reptile lovers wouldn't realize that it basically means the same thing. Therefore, you can keep the name you like and not lose business!

No we are def not pervs. That logo is the spitting image of the pic that was in "the sex movie" that we watched in 5th grade. I should recognize it the best, i went through 5th grade 3 times...
