I think what the OP meant was that they're watching their cat to see if it finds the snake. I've heard of tons of stories where people's snakes got out and their cats acting funny or being very fixated on one spot alerted them to their lost pet.

After all, a definition of "hunt" is "to seek out something with intent to capture; to attempt to find something".

I'm in a similar situation right now trying to find my male BP that managed to squeeze out under his tub lid. I haven't had much luck yet but I've tried putting out a heating pad, hides, and a thawed rat. I'm getting over being pretty sick and have a bad shoulder so tonight I'm gonna try and enlist some help moving my bed away from the wall so I can get a good look at the baseboard heating. I've been watching my cats too but trying to keep them out of the room where he escaped. I'm afraid they'll scare him from coming out. He's around ~230+ grams at this point and hopefully too big for my cats to want to try and mess with but I'm still worried they'll find him first and take a few swings at him.

Carpets are pretty skinny so I'd definitely check inside any little nook or crevice. I haven't tried it yet but I've heard people suggest putting a live prey item in a critter keeper or something to try and draw a snake out. Best of luck in any case. I know that the first thing I'm doing when I find him (and I'm still hopeful I will) is getting and securing a rack.

My big Carpet girl like to push her tub out of the rack. She now gets locked in.

Found her on top of a ladder once :p

No luck yet? I've only had an escape once and found my BP in about 10 seconds. I don't know what it's like to worry about one all day.

Years ago when I first got my corn (she was a sub adult) this is how I found her when she got out and had been missing for a week. My cats are really interested and like to generally investigate snake activity. But when they get close, the alien nature of the snake really freaks them out and they're scare of them. Even my baby balls lol.

A day? Haha How about 2 weeks?
Right before Christmas I was changing out my Anery Stripe's water dish and was away for about 1-2 mins. I came back and she was absolutely no where to be seen. I was dumbfounded - I often have the tub open for hours while I'm in the room and she never makes sudden movements. She turned up 2 weeks later. I think she got in the walls. Can't trust that sneaky snake for a minute!

Just to clarify these are the only 2 times I've ever had a snake escape ^ kinda makes it sound like it happens all the time lol

I just found her! I started pulling up the carpets around my walls and sure enough there she was. She was curled up under the carpet in front of a baseboard in my closet. Thanks for all the advice everyone. It's time to invest in a rack now.
