She did it.. She tried going feet first and then figured it out.. It took her awhile and it was neat to see her work at it.
That rat hopper was 27 grams, a little short of the 15% rule.. It should've been 32 grams because she was 218 grams right before feeding today. Looks like she gained 17 grams this week.. We still didn't notice a lump in her once it made it down the narrow part of her body (neck)...?

I bought 20 hoppers, so I'm guessing we'll have to eventually start giving her two at a time before she eats all of these.

Yes i am aware of that. And i wouldnt say it is too big for my girl. Yeah there is a small lump but she is on a 7 day feed. When friday rolls around she is thin. She isnt getting fat by no means. She still looks like a loaf of bread as someone described earlier. I dont plan on moving her to small rats untill she is 400 grams. I have asked before if the lump was to large and many people said it looks good ( as i made threads about this). But i know someone will say i am wrong for feeding larger prey items.

So on our BP, if the Hopper Rats are Not leaving a lump are they still too small? Like I said, they were a little shy of being exactly 15% of her body weight. I don't want her to be under fed. We don't always stick to a 7 day planned schedule anyways, more like every 5-6.. She'll usually hang out in her hides for the most part.. If before 7 days rolls around and she gets hungry, she will come out and sniff the air and roam a little. So we feed her early if she does this, if not we wait 7 days.
