I would lose the sand. The substrate that I use is Desert Blend Lizard Litter, which is crushed walnut shells.

I was set on going with aspen bedding and then the breeder told me not to and that he (Dorito) would like the sand better.

    Thanks y'all :)

Cool, you went with a sand boa.

    I keep mine on Aspen.
One thing, you might want to change out that bowl. SBs can be known to not find their water very easily. I have even read where people have to hold them over the bowl for them to drink. A bowl with the edge closer to the surface might be better.

I think i sent this to you before but just incase I didn't.

    Good choice :)

Thanks for the input! I'll get him a lower water bowl asap. I might change to aspen bedding too (I never heard of using walnut shells! I'll have to see if it's easy to find here)...although I hate to go against what the breeder told me to use for his set up. The little guy seems to like it...he tends to stay buried in it with just his little nose poking out:oops:

My main worry with the sand would be feeding. Do you plan to feed it in the tank?

I love seeing them peeking out :D

They also love to escape. If there is a way, they will find it. (just a heads up)

Hope you don't mind if I share a pic. I got a couple of new ones for Xmas :)
