I smoke marijuana and thats about it. Yes it is medical, yes legally. Its the only medical drug that takes away my spinal pain from a car accident when I was 14.

But I vaporize it so I dont inhale any smoke at all.

I never plan on smoking cigarettes though. My mother does and always has and I HATE it. Its just NASTY!

it is nasty. :( that's why im hoping i can quit. lol i tried a lot of different things growin up and nothing ever hooked me like these cigarettes. it still doesnt make sense to me cigarettes and alcohol are legal and marijuana isn't. i wouldnt say i'm "pro-pot," it just doesnt add up to me. but thats a whole 'nother topic. lol

Im new here but feel I should chime in.. Tried cold turkey last year with about a 2 week success but then started smoking even more then b4 I quit.. I'm determined to kick it this year! Doing it diff tho bought 20$ worth of bubblegum and I allow myself 3 smokes per day trying to "ween" myself off them. I like the idea of saving the 7$ a day to go towards something I want like car parts and soon to b snakes since I feel a new addiction coming on.

Stay strong an it can be done I've had 4 so far this year and I'm of work tnrw so prolly won't get the urge once..

Hardest part. Is not lighting up everytime I get in the car that's where the gum comes in.. And playing the music really loud and banging the steering. Wheel to the beat of the song lol

Ive tried. If i pushed it enough then im sure smokers would lose their special privileges but then they'd all be cranky and hate me. Not really worth it i guess. Its sorta always a card i keep in my hand should i ever need to play it haha. ;)

i am DEFINITELY cranky if i don't have my fix. which is why i'm trying to get outta the circle. i stress because i want a cigarette, i want a cigarette because i'm stressed. luckily for me my boss already knows I'm trying to quit and said i can go outside for a 5 minute "smoke" break to take a breather and get away from crazy customers for a minute. lol

man to be honest i dip and smoke. i can go days without one if i have the other. just different ways for the nicotine to get into your blood. i actually went a year just dipping and not smoking.. to me "quitting smoking" is quitting nicotine. whether you're smoking or chewing you're still getting that nicotine fix. i don't wanna be a slave to nicotine at all any more, no matter how it gets in me. lol

There's all sorts of reasons people quit smoking...health should be the #1 concern, but what really did it for me was writing down everything I spent every time I picked up a pack. Not only cigarette costs, but every time I'd go into a store, I'd also get a coffee, a monster, a bagel, or a lighter, or something else. Seeing that written down on paper for a month or so really bothered me. Since I stopped smoking, the additional expenses have gone down considerably as well.
