    I would only offer the food on your designated feeding day. Offering too often can stress them out and cause them not to eat at all.

    Heating up the head helps a lot for some of mine who have some serious trouble finding the head. I have a 2600g girl who still takes them down backwards nearly as often as forwards, but when the head is nice and toasty it makes it easy to strike the head in the first place which seems to help. Also if someone's being picky I'll often leave the (f/t) rat in overnight. More often than not its gone in the morning.
