Temp guns are all about the same accuracy wise most are +\-2 F. The difference is the DS ratio and battery types. Typically with royals the DS ratio 1:1 is fine 2 or 4 to 1 are as well. It just changes the optimal distance. Remember they come calibrated to measure objects about the reflectance of a brown paper bag.
Some accurites are specs at 2 degrees C so a 4 degree spread isn't too bad it could be 8.
