RHP's emit heat down and warm everything under them (like the sun) putting a RHP on the floor of the cage (or any heat source really) isn't a good idea. What happens when snake pee gets on the electrical connections? What if your thermostat goes out and it spikes the heat?
I like RHP's, but the only reason to get one vs flexwatt is if you want to have a thick substrate layer.

You can either go into your settings (upper right corner of the screen by the log out button) and set it so that any thread that you post/post on is subscribed too (get emails) or at the top of this thread above your original post there is an option called "thread tools" click on this. A drop down menu will appear and one of the options is to subscribe.

Only on part of the bottom like this:

This cage is set up for use with a divider, so the flexwatt is in the middle so both sides get heat. normally the flexwatt would go on the right side of the bottom of the cage. (you can see the outline where it should go)
Here is a close up on the normal spot for flexwatt and the thermostat probe slot on a T8. it measures 24" x 11" (2 feet of 11 or 12 inch flexwatt)

Flexwatt provides the hot side (basking) temperature in the cage. If you covered the entire bottom of the cage there would be no place for the snake to cool off.
