Thank you! Yes, I designed it and my boyfriend built it. :) It's still a little sparse-er than it's supposed to be, mostly because we're still trying to decide the best way to decorate it that won't take hours to clean. And that she won't destroy with her big ol' butt. :P

Satin is a pretty girl, glad you were able to keep her somewhere!

Thank you! Yeah I have to warn people who want to hold her ahead of time because she LOVES faces, and it makes them (understandably) nervous when she starts coming at them. She especially likes glasses, and will try and perch on them.
Yes, we were very adamant about keeping her, and even had a couple back-up plans in case she couldn't stay with one of us. I miss not having her around all the time, but at least I can see her whenever I want! :)

Well my boyfriend worked on it with help from his dad; they remodel their house by themselves, so it turned out to be waaay more cost-effective to let them get handy with it than to go out and purchase something. It was pretty simple though. The only thing that turned out to be tricky was when we were trying to get a glass panel for the bottom where we wanted to put a UTH. We couldn't find a place that offered thick enough glass (we bought one and it actually shattered when we accidentally rested a heat lamp on it for a couple seconds! :O ) We decided to buy a 20 gal. fishtank and dismantle it.
THOSE. SUCKERS. ARE. BUILT. TO. STAY. TOGETHER. It took us almost THREE days to dissolve the caulking on it...

We have no idea. We got Satin from a rescue in June last year. We thought she was like 1-2 years old tops, but now I'm thinking she may be more in the 4-5 year old range. It's especially hard to tell since we don't know how she was fed before she came to us or anything.
