I placed the t-stat on the mid shelf and taped it next to the heat cable. Tweaked it a little and dialed in the temps with a temp gun. The lowest shelf will be a little lower then the rest so you may have to add additional loops of the cable to bring up the temps. Hope this helps.

I need to order some new heat cable. The first 2' or so is not heating so well.
Besides that, the rest of the tubs are at a perfect temp.

The first part of heat cable isn't supposed to heat.

I just looked that up. First 6' is a cold lead.

I guess it's working great. I'll run it for a few more days to make sure it's all dialed in.
