I just heard about this yesterday from a couple coworkers. I personally have never been to this store, but one of my coworkers has a close family member who had. It was so bad, she went there a handful of times then never went back, choosing instead to drive 30-40 minutes away for her needs. Apparently the store was pretty nasty, and went well beyond a matter of f/t animals waiting to be eaten.

While I do not like PETA, and I feel they are generally full of cow poopy. I have been told by many people that know of global captive breeders that they are bad news. It just bugs me that some bad seeds in this industry can do sooo much harm  . I am sure this is going to spark some more really bad things for us...

Here is a link to the PETA video showing some heartbreaking stuff in the facility. WARNING it is GRAPHIC http://youtu.be/c1lmEJkXwqw

You're right, very graphic video. This is sickening. I really don't understand how anyone could let their animals get in that condition.

Tears me up inside. It's just atrocious.

At first I was like most, thinking PETA was blowing it out of proportion and most of the "deceased" animals were frozen rat feeders. But after watching that video...

over 18k rodents and 600-700 reptiles....a large portion of both dead/dying/very sick....PETA and the local government ...its my understanding...put THEM ALL down....

I can't believe people can do this kind of stuff. I couldn't even watch the whole video. While I'm not happy all those animals had to be put down, I think it was the best possible solution. How many of them had diseases that could be spread to other animals. I really hope those people go to prison for a while.

Disgusting. I couldn't watch the entire video. What they did was so inhumane, it was unbelievable that someone allowed this to happen. Even the feeder rats does not deserve that kind of treatment! I hope the owner goes to jail!

This isnt a reptile breeder specific situation both thankfully and sadly. Puppy farms and hoarding is an issue of anything kept in captivity and bred. These situations are deplorable and every level or negative you can think of. Regulation on these things makes sense but is very difficult to enforce. Thankfully for these animals they were found and though they were put down at least the suffering is over.

^ Exactaly. Seems this guy was running his "breeding" like a puppy mill. It saddens me a great deal to see that video:(. I hope he pays for what he did and not the community!! What he did is wrong, just plain wrong.
