Huh that's interesting. Useful to member too cuz I'm sure ill run into this somewhere down the line once breeding starts

Except for the fact that some prolapses are not due to edema...in which case surgery is usually required. Some prolapses are caused by physically torn connective tissues which then allow the tissue or organs the connective tissue was holding in place to move, shift or prolapse.

Edema is a result of the prolapse, not the cause, and fwiw, connective tissue is always stretched or torn when a true prolapse occurs.

Keep the prolapsed tissue moist too when he's not soaking, you don't want to let it get dry. Good luck.

if the cool side is in the upper 70's I don't see 89 for a hot spot being a problem for digestion. durning breeding season I try for 86 for a hot spot. and they digest their food just fine at that temp.

The fact that the breeder said it wasn't eating and was only offered live every 3 weeks and you still bought the snake despite it's lack of feeding response, and it being underweight, is worrisome. Personally if that were my snake, it would be at the vet.

The sugar water will help until you can get the snake there, but I'd say a vet visit is definitely in order.

Any updates? How's the little guy doing?
