You should still be able to see even with fur. How old is the rat?

Rats can be sexed the day they are born :P

Rex X Rex = 25% standard coat, 50% rex and 25% double rex.
Mock hairless is a trait of double rex and since double rex is not a showable rat there is no such thing as a poor quality coat on one imo.
Personally I like the patchworks better :)

Patch work ones are kinds cute haha an I know they can be just first litter so I've had thoughts its two boys and one girl an I'm right a bout the boys just not sure about the girl yet jus don't wanna say till I know for sure

Just an interesting note - Not all hairless rats will have trouble lactating. I knew a breeder who had a line of hairless rats that were exceptional mothers, lactating and everything. She routinely bred hairless to hairless without any problems at all. I personally wouldn't be willing to take the risk unless I knew the line well. If it is a concern, but you want to be guaranteed hairless babies, you can always breed two females at once (one hairless) and foster the hairless babies onto the haired mom.

I ill post pics when I'm done with some home work haha I'm slightly color blind is why I have problems with all the fur their now i can't see any other color then white, I want hairless cuz I find them goofy and again I know people that want hairless pets lol kids have allergies

Lol I just figured no hair nothing to make kids sneeze ha could be way wrong tho if I am ill have to tell the parents that lol

I've heard people say hairless are hypoallergenic, but I don't believe it. Often when people are allergic to rats, it is their urine, not their fur or saliva (as with cats).

Anecdote:
I'm actually allergic to rats (despite 10 years of breeding and 20 years of keeping!), and it's the urine. If they pee on me, that's fine, but when their little nails scratch me, it "injects" the urine particles under my skin, and I get a major reaction. Cleaning time can really suck too because the urine particles can become aerosol and if I breath them in I can get an asthmatic reaction. The few times I've handled hairless rats, I actually had a pretty severe reaction to them. Not sure what it was about them vs. a normal furry rat, but it was not a fun experience.

But if people want hairless rats because they think they are hypoallergenic... more power to them I guess! lol
