yeah what I meant was try to sell off the one you can't use, then use that extra money and a bit more and get an animal plastics cage with all of the fixin's for your BP haha I know those cages aren't appropriate size, I just really want you to get a BP. :)

I agree with Dean on that one, you definitely need a secure cage for a bp (whether it officially locks or not). I don't know that 45 really is big enough for a fully grown chondro, though it's considerably too big for a juvie. It would fit anywhere from 1-6 cresties very well, though, or a gargoyle and a couple of cresties or something along those lines.

Jonah...I WILL be getting a BP! Just not until after we've moved and settled into our new house. Part of a deal I've made with hubby. :) So one is definitely in my future. And a lot more after he's retired!

In the meantime...I get to have fun with these tanks.....

I didnt realise cresties require so much room. They need a 45 gallon? Sorry I have no clue.

I don't think they NEED a 45 gallon....just that that happens to be what I have now. As Marla said, I could probably put up to six of them in there comfortably. Although I would be concerned about them getting territorial or something. I haven't done any extensive research on them yet, myself.

Paul...when the time comes, I will probably order an Animal Plastics cage for the BP. Since hubby is so particular about security and locking...I don't think he'll mind shelling out a few extra bucks to make sure!

I agree, the cam locks are only an extra 7 or 8 bucks, and from what Ive been told the built in heat is awsome too.
