I like callin ya Beagles  Anyway Beagles, she is too much of a scardy cat to tag anything bigger than a little mouse! Unless she mistakes ur hand for food. I know that SFE will occur and she will tag my hand thinking it was food. But never in any other way  The fact of the matter is BP's are blinder than bats. She would try and strike at the F/T rat and miss by half a foot or so at times.

LOL!!! Congrats...you've been blooded. You're officially a snake keeper. ;) Doesn't sound like anything out of the ordinary...my bet is that it was just his startled little way of telling you to "Pliss off!"

Just thought some folks would like this
I can't even fathom Bob biting me I understand he is a "wild animal" and generally operates on instinct and thats why I show him respect but he has never hissed, struck or even gave me a dirty look since I have had him.

As crazy as it sounds it would just be out of character for him to do that. I know it is silly to apply those terms to a snake but quite frankly he's a big chicken
The only time I have ever seen him strike or even look mean is when it is time to eat.

Now Nanners on the other hand that little booger is a handfull

I know what you mean Macky. I still think that BP's have personalities and feelings. Those scientiests can take a flying leap at the moon for all I care :P

It is always such a shock when you get bitten by a BP who has never previously struck at ya. It really doesn't hurt, but the shock alone is enough to make it an unpleasant experience!

After reading a lot of peoples experiences it seems to me the longer you remain a snake keeper, the more likely you will be bit regardless of how sweet your little angel is. The reason however will usualy be due to human error (like I put my hand in Plisskens face and scared the hell outa him). And obviously that ratio of nips and kisses gos up if you decide to have more than one. Any way may all you uninitiated be bitten and bitten soon, and as for Raj that petco bite doesnt count, may your little sweety latch on to you like a pit bull on steroids.
