If it was 1/100th of a second, how do you know for sure he was even bit?

You're worrying about nothing. If he isn't visibly injured or holding his mouth strangely, then he's fine (and probably wasn't ever really bitten). You can't convince any snake to be okay with restraining it's head and opening it's mouth. Leave him alone, he's fine.
