I guess 14 is legal in CT too. Heres a link to CT laws and if you click on the hyperlinks it'll give you some ideas:

But Mike, those laws are practically useless seeing as I'm in West Virginia

I don't think he meant it would necessarily be illegal to work at your age. It's illegal to work "under the table" at any age :)

Besides, he told someone to put pudding in their hair (come to think of it, wasn't it...you) a little while ago. I wouldn't trust him :)

Make sure your parents or legal guardians also sign permission for you to work....most states won't let anyone under the age of 15 work even with parental permissions...I.E you have to be 15 WITH written permission.

Oh I know, that's the reason I got a work permit. In WV it's a 3-part paper (A,B,C) the employer fills out A, your parents fill out B, & C is filled out by the board of education for my county.

I got my first job at a local grocery store as a bagger. They would also have me 'face' which is just pulling the product up to the front of the shelf and making it in a straight line.

    Pretty legit job actually.

Okay... To clear things up since people are obviously confused here...

No it is not illegal to work at your age. I get that. I *think*, but am not sure, it may be illegal to "get paid under the table" so thats why i added the disclaimer to the mods that if it is illegal i do NOT recommend it. That was just to cover my own ass from getting infractions, bc ive gotten one for "suggesting illegal activities" before.

The link i posted to you wasnt in regards to the laws really. If you click on the tab it gives a ton of options of where 14y/o's can work in CT. WV laws may be different, i dont know for sure, but it was just to give you some more ideas. Theres a ton of options listed there. Maybe a couple are illegal in WV but it cant hurt to give you more ideas. I was only trying to help give you ideas, not argue what the laws are lol.

The pudding suggestion in the other thread was a joke. If anyone tries that though be sure to take pics lmao.
