I think you're on the right track! Just get a thermostat for the UTH and a DIMMER (not a timer) for the lamp and then some better thermometers and then you're good to go!

Walmart carries an indoor/outdoor one, you want to put the outdoor probe on the heat pad and the monitor on the cool side.;)
