    I see a ton of them, and since they are non-native invasives, it would be best for you to keep him as a cool new pet, than to release him(no matter the "there's thousands already, one more won't matter!", after all, we're supposed to at least make an effort).

    He probably was catching gnats and such that go in the cricket cages.

    I find them in Houston... kept on as a pet for a bit but ended up releasing because I didn't want to keep buying crickets. My local pet store catches them all the time and sells them for 3 fillers as pets or feeders
