Breeding size females

Both of my females were at 1250g when I started pairing them. My ghost had been off feed for 2 months and always a hit or miss feeder (usually skipped every other offering). When I went to feed her after pairing her for the first time (witnessed a lock) it was the first time she LITERALLY JUMPED (I think her whole body was in the air for a moment) out of the tub to rip the rat off the tongs. The tail and foot came off on the tongs because she hit it so hard. She has been hitting that aggressively every offering (has not missed a meal including in shed) since then.

DO IT! Her body knows if she is capable of producing. I read a LOT of threads before deciding to start pairing and the overall consensus is that there is not much to lose by simply pairing the snakes together if she's over a year old and over 1000 grams. Whether or not you get eggs is another story. All I know as of now is that pairing my females made them have insane feeding responses. Good luck.

I think most would say 17-18 months old and over 1200 grams and eating.
I know a few do it that early, but honestly 1 year old is too young and 1000 grams is pretty small, too small imo.

I have successfully bred a fall 09 female @ 930 grams she went up to almost 1200 grams 3 days before she laid. She dropped to 765 grams post lay. She laid 4 nice eggs all candled perfect.

Gratz on the locks, she looks good. I am weighing my pin every week, she's around 1000g and is my garbage disposal, if she keeps gaining as she has been I hope to try her in late January.
