I only feed hoppers to hatchling and am bumping them up in size after a couple weeks to smaller mice, or in my case chunky rat fuzzies, eyes just opened. Within a month they are on baby rats, still nursing, but almost weaned.

How quickly should I expect them to put on weight to get to a normal size I am fairly confident that the record I got from the pet store is correct because they havent gotten any new snakes in since august also I found an average weight chart and would like your opinion of rather or not it is a good gauge of average accuracy http://www.thereddragonsden.com/avgweight.htm I know every snake grows at its own rate but I would like to have a good idea of what to expect

I have 2 that hatched on 08/23/2012and they are just at 120ish grams, there were problem feeders to start with, their sister is almost 400g :D
There are too many variables to try and say what a snake should weigh in my oppinion.

well at 84 g I would think it is safe to say they are probably only half the size they should be? and with that weight would you keep them on hoppers for now offering one every 3-4 days until they double their weight then start uping the size and time between feedings? and continue feeding them that way until say mid to end of january giving them aprox 2 months to pack on some g's?

    Here's ROUGHLY what I do: http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/file...ging_chart.jpg

Here's a comparison table of rat and mice sizes: http://www.repticzone.net/images/25454/sizechart.jpg

the rat pinkies are really rat fuzzies which are the size of mouse weanlings. I would feed them mouse weanlings every 5 days until they are about 150g. Then you can feed them adult mice until they are about 300g-400g. Then feed them jumbos until they are about 600g or so. Then they should be able to eat small rats. Once they hit the 500-600g mark, feed them once a week instead of every 5 days.

Ok so tonight we got both our girls to take 2 hoppers a piece the as recommended for the next 10 weeks we will feed 1 more mouse hopper every three days until they reach at least 150g a piece how often should I weigh them once weekly or one day before the next feed?

Once they reach 150g they go back to once every 5 days with one appropriately sized prey. Until 500-600g then one every 7 does that sound about right our vet here is not a reptile specialist however she does treat reptiles.

After they poop is when you should weigh them. This is their actual weight, no prey inside to increase it. Also called the "empty" weight.
