Nothing wrong with waiting, I start most of mine around 1400 grams and 17-18 months old or older...

So far I have one that hit 1000g 3 months ago and even though she is still a good eater she has started growing much slower. She will be 1 yr next month and is about 1200g now... I will be waiting until next season to breed her I dont think I will do a June/July breeding even if she is up to size. My other girl hit 1200g and stopped feeding for 5 weeks. She is 3 weeks off of her hunger strike and feeding better than ever and has gained 100g! She hit 1000g 4 months ago. My snakes growth rates vary so much.. I have yearlings that are right around 600g and some that are 6 months old at 600g and then the one at 1200g who is about to be 1 next month... I guess we will see. :)

I have noticed that even with the same feeding schedule, my growth rates slowed some at about 800ish grams.

Here is an example of one of our girls that kinda meets the criteria you are asking about

Of course she's me on and off feed a lot. So it probably would be a lot different if she was a constant eater. But I think it's a good example either way

100- 150g is average for my girls, but I have a 0.1 Pastel that has put on 400g+ in two months feeding every 4 days.

Some of the more experienced breeders can recognize the signs of females, and will breed if they do not reach the typical breeding weight. I am trying to learn these signs, but I will not be experimenting with them until I have some experience haha. I can't tell when my snakes are ready, or are yearning to breed. I'm just going to wait until they are over 1500 grams :P
