but i don't like mutts! it could get nasty if irresponsible people get their grubby paws on them.

Most carpets in the US are mutts unless you can get a paper trail back far enough.
I'm all for a hybrid but it must be sold as such. I was going to try a carpet x ball but one of my girls died of cancer a few weeks ago :(

I dont see a problem with it as long as its done by someone who knows what theyre doing and does it responsibly. I wouldnt be looking to purchase bateaters from joe schmo down the block.

For me it depends on the species/subspecies. Crossing burms to balls or corns to grey rats doesn't bother me. But the more rare species I think should be kept pure. I don't think Angolans should be bred to balls just because they look so similar someone could try to pass it off as pure. I think that localities should be kept pure especially in chondros and boas. The main reason I believe in keeping these animals pure is because if we don't then they will no longer exist. It's hard to find pure locality animals already in certain cases. And there are several species of snakes that are hard to find that were much more common 20 years ago. If you are wanting to do hybrids then by all means do so. But remember that some will never accept them.

I am somewhat split on this issue. i love to see whats new and what can be done but some people will sell them mislabeled. its inevitable. i guess we will see what happens because no matter what i say or anyone else if it can be done someone somewhere will do it lol.
