Well, from what I am being told. At some point while I was away the room severely overheated and the snakes died.

Not exactly the best thing to come home to :( (could he not contact you when it happened?). Very sorry to hear that, I'd be furious to find any of my snakes gone, let alone the majority of them.

That's terrible, i hope he replaces what was lost. If it was something like a freak overheat that's sad it happened when he was watching them but still falls on him to replace. I hope it starts looking up for you! I hope other then that your return home is good and happy Veterans Day to you!

Well, first and foremost, thank you for your service. As for the snakes, that's just terrible. Hindsights 20/20 but your partner should've been doing more. It takes more than a few minutes for a room to overheat and kill a snake. At least he was straight with you about it and has made statements to the effect that he will replace everything lost.

First of all: Thank you for your service. Secondly: Gut wrenching. I'm glad to know that they're willing to replace the snakes, and that it was accidental rather than malicious. Perhaps some of the fine breeders on this forum would extend you a hardship or military discount to re-acquire your collection?

I do appreciate the sentiment but the fine breeders here, that I have done business with in the past have been more than fair and I really can’t expect anything more than what they have done for me already. Fair is fair and they have been more than fair with me, providing healthy animals at a good price.

As far as replacing animals, right now is just not the time. I have a lot of cleaning up to do. I still have the 3 Ball Pythons that are going to require a little more attention and I need some quick lessons on the care and maintenance of Carpet Pythons. I have no experience at all with them. They are such cute little babies though. Lol.

I also want to say that this forum is the greatest. It was the first one I came to when I was researching the care and maintenance of reptiles and it is still the first one I come to.

    Thank you to everybody here.

That's horrible, especially since you don't need anything like this to deal with when coming home from tour. I know with my Fiance it was just hard enough integrating back into normal life after coming home from the sand box let alone dealing with something devastating like this. It would have been nice if the person watching your snakes could have at least sent you an e-mail.
I hope your last 3 BPs are doing well and nothing else happens to stress you out! Good luck!

Gosh, that is really horrid. Do you know why the room overheated? Good luck with the carpet hatchlings.
