That's awesome that your husband was Army! What was his MOS/Branch? I'm field artillery myself.

Like-minded, indeed. Like I said, I am very jealous of your job but know that someday all of this Army stuff will be heind me and I can live a life solely for myself, my family and my interests and not what I feel is my duty (serving in the military) as a citizen of this great nation. That said, I would likely only be happy doing something that is a service, hence why I would like to be a state wildlife biologist or an employee of the National Park Service. I look forward to seeing more pictures from your time in the field!

My husband was also field artillery! He actually wanted to do something else (I forget what... something with communication), but they needed more people in field artillery. If I recall correctly, he was told, "You'll serve your first x number of years in field artillery, and then we'll let you switch to your preferred branch." After those so many years he decided it wasn't worth going through training all over again to change. He's now looking at options for a civilian job while he's in the guard. Mostly looking at law enforcement. He considered game warden too, but sounds like he's settling on something with more local options.

It sounds like he was an officer then, yes? If so, ask him what year group he was, as he was likely close to mine (a year or two ahead at most, I'm thinking). Where were you guys stationed at?

Yes he's an officer. His group was 2009, and he was stationed at Ft. Lewis. We are back in California now though. We both grew up and have family here.
