Re: Pastel
Thanks for the comments guys :)....at first there were 2 options that i sorted from 5 male pastels, the other one had much brighter yellow color than him....but his flames and blushing made me choose him instead.I am very very new in BP and have no idea how to pick a good pastel that will stay bright till adult.
Mine in real had better color contrast than in the picture.Just curious,is there any possibility that he will get brighter by age?coz I'm the light/bright color type. And another question does dirty means "dirty" in bad ways?at first i thought it was unique or something else coz i haven't seen that kind of "dirty" looking pattern in the pastels that stores sells here.

That snake will not get brighter with age. Rather he will "brown" out. The areas you see orange, will get darker. "Dirty" refers to all the speckling on him, which is not typical in a nice quality pastel. Congrats on your new baby, BTW.

The new one is an improvement color wise, but still a dark dirty pastel. It will brown out too. I honestly don't care for either one. :/
My pastel as a baby for comparison. And I don't even like her that much. Too much orange that has browned out with age. It's difficult to find quality pastels these days. My pastel het clown glows yellow, but I think its due to the clown gene.

Re: Pastel
wow even that kind of colored baby pastel of yours brown out much:O...stores in here will probably sell baby pastels similar as yours as a super pastel.I found a 600grams pastel in store today, color is quite yellow but browned out much at the upper side of the body being sold as a super pastel :confusd:.. i have searched for about 2 months and looked about 30-50 baby pastels and can't seem to find any good pastels these two were one of the best i can pick, both have best color contrast and blushing than the others..all of the baby pastels here are orange colored, rare blushing and flames, the rather bright colored one will be sold as super pastels and will cost a fortune :(

If I were you, I'd keep whichever you like the best (looks and temperament wise). I assume you aren't trying to create any high end morphs with a pastel male, rather just trying your hand at the breeding process and doing it for fun. Who cares if you don't have the best pastel in the world? Ball pythons should be fun! It's the animals that make it enjoyable, not the amount of speckling or yellow. I have some balls that I know aren't great quality-wise, but I got them because I personally think they are absolutely beautiful, even if they are different than the general standards. I'll breed them too, because they are my snakes and I love them, speckles and all ;)

I'm with satomi, I don't care for either one of them either. :(
