That sounds really cool, Marla! How big do you imagine such a facility would need to be?

Raj, I'm afraid yours is bigger scale than mine. ;)

Judy, it's hard to say, but I'd hazard a guess of 20,000 square feet. My workplace is about 4000 and it's a start, but to do a decent job of more than a few habitats, it would have to be at least 10,000. There would have to be room for offices, a clinic, service hallways, storage, isolated breeding facility, and probably a small auditorium as well as the actual habitat rooms.

Sounds like a fascinating thing to plan out! Have you ever sat down and started sketching and making plans? It sounds like you've given it some thought....

In my "dream land" (and of course, if money were no object) I would like to have residing in my home at least one specimen of the following:

Xanthic, Snow, Clown, Mojave (Naa, gotta have a pair of these beauties!), Killer Bee, Orange ghost, hypo mojave, Albino, and a leucistic (All Ball pythons, of course). I would also like to have a Biak Chondro python, Jaguar carpet python, Angolan python, lots of Bloods (preferably Ivory, T+ Albino, and lots of cherry red normals), a hypo and albino BRB, and a pair of 100% pure Hog Island boas. Ok, so I'm a little "python bias", lol. I LOVE them! Oh yeah, and I would like a pair or two of both banded and reticulated Gila Monsters. Oh yeah, (LOL) and a pair of every single Crotalus there is! And maybe an Eyelash viper or Gaboon. Man... I better stop or I'm going to be hitting the classifieds. ;)

I would like to keep in mind, however, that as long as money were no object, I would not be breeding these animals a lot. I may do it for the enjoyment every other year or less, just to keep these morphs going steady, but I would not be doing it for the money (obviously!). Wouldn't that be just PERFECT? Man, I hate threads like this, lol...

Definitely some choice Chondros.....a bunch more colored ATBs......various rare colubrids (Elaphe Coxi, E. prasina, Mandarin Rats, Tiger Rats, etc.).......some nice high yellow Jungle Carpets......Mangrove Snakes.....False Water Cobras.....hypomelanistic African House Snakes.....thats all I can think of at the moment lol.

LOL It would be if there were any chance I'd have the money to do it. I've been thinking about this lately and even have pictured it in my head (hey, insomnia is good for something after all), but I am far too financially strapped to do much of anything. Of course, if it turns out that the new ball is axanthic and I start producing snows, it's possible my luck could change. :)
