See thats the funny thing he was on mice when I got him I switched him to rats no problem. Then he freaked out on a stunned rat and wouldn't eat for 2 weeks so to get him to eat I gave a gerbil and now he's hooked on the tasty little buggers .

I have read here their is one other person on the forums whose Ball eats a gerbil diet. So my question still is are they a vaiable food source for both of my snakes? Meaning will a Cali King eat gerbils?

Just skip the next scheduled feeding and then go with gerbil-scented rats for a couple of feedings and you should be back to rats.

At the neighbor's. Ask for their used bedding and toss the rat in it for several minutes before feeding, or just let it thaw in a bag of used gerbil bedding (assuming they're not using pine, cedar, or redwood bedding).
