So its been almost a week. I tried the news paper thing and she seems more comfortable. I actually have seen her out from her hides a few nights. I think this is a good sign. I will attempt to feed her tomorrow.

This past Monday was feeding day and my yearling pinstripe has been on a hunger strike since 09-01-12. I moved his tub from the middle of the rack all the way to the top to see if the change of real estate would stimulate him. Thawed out all the rats ranging in size from pinks to mediums. Got out the handy hair dryer and started to go to town on warming them up.

Normally my pinstripe would just stay in his hide while the other ballz and jcp would go crazy as the wonderful smell of rats filled up the room. I noticed he was sticking his head out by the rim of his tub. My last couple of attempts to feed him were unsuccessful with a small rat so I tried a pup this time. Without hesitation, he struck and coiled and within a couple of minutes it was gone. I grabbed a small rat and once again, he took it like a champ. Hopefully this will continue next week or until this heatwave in So Cal ends. Keep trying different things and your fella will eat eventually. I hope this helps and keep us posted.

BTW, my little ball of fire who normally eats like clockwork decided that rats was not on the menu and scurried away when he saw his chow. One of these days all fourteen will eat on schedule. :please:

Cool man. I bet you're relieved. Good news on my end. The newspaper thing worked. She ate. I gave her a really small rat. No bigger than 25g. It was P/K. I threw it in there and within an hour it was gone. Hopefully she'll keep this up. Major relief!!!!
