What would you pay for a male dinker?

Most of what is out there that ppl consider a so called dinker,i wouldnt waste my time with

When it comes to dinking, I would assume males are more valuable because if the snake should happen to prove out, you can inject the gene into more than one project at a time, as opposed to females only laying a single clutch. So, that would increase the value in my eyes. Apart from that, just depends how good of a dinker it is. You could post a picture. Personally, I think there's some "normals" that look pretty interesting at times. You know, what does it have that makes you think it could be something else, in this case harlequin. How is it similar and also how is it different?

Exactly...but MOST hobbyists and small breeders don't have the space, patience, etc...to follow through on a potential project starting with a male. Space is a huge thing, because how many people are going to go out and buy an extra rack or two just to have space for a project that may or may not pan out. Patience is huge, because so many want immediate results.

Back to the OP, if you agreed on $60 and are happy with your purchase, that's awesome!

We haven't picked him up yet, and without permission I can't post the photo. Tomorrow we'll take the drive and make the final decision. We haven't agreed on the $60, that was just the price the guy threw out. As it stands right now, if he doesn't prove out to be anything more than a normal, we're ok with that. We have a display cage to use for a pet if we like, and he's a pretty boy. In addition, I don'think thinks it's a terrible idea to have a normal boy in the ranks for future use to prove or single a gene out. But that is way over thinking it for where we are right now.

(And no, he's not being sold as a "dinker", local pick up that caught my eye as a dinker :) )

true but then again you can do multi-males to a dinker female then the off-spring from the clutch can go towards different females or back to mom.

Depends on what he looks like and how badly I wanted him, but I'm thinking $50 since I really don't need another normal male.
