Most of you seem to be neglecting the fake that I'm not serious about doing this, I am just curious

Most of the replies were answering your question. 2 of the replies took the "attack" stance.

If I actually thought you were seriously considering it, my post would have been much harsher. I just added my general opinion on snakes + other animals. Was not trying to imply you would consider it.

Rikki Tikki Tavi was a weasel vs cobra and not a constrictor. I would venture to bet that a good strike and wrap would result in a dead mammal. I would not take a chance but I really don't see this as a categorically implausible outcome. I don't know how much nutrition a snake would get out of a ferret but they do seem to be shaped like ideal snake food for a large enough constrictor.

    ferret vs. bp

ferret wins. I know your'e not serious and it's a common question/thought. X vs. Y. which would win?

    Rambo vs. Rocky

now that's the battle I wanna see!

Does Rambo get to have weapons? If he does then I go Rambo.

    Rules? Ring or Jungle?

    see? too many variables?

I say Rocky in a fair, hand to hand fight. Rambo if there are no rules.

I keep ferrets, rats, and BPs in the same room. The snake rack door gets closed when ferrets come out for play time.

Ferrets would kill a ball python hands down. They would do it accidentally by trying to play with it too hard. Unless it was a feeder prey, they wouldn't viciously kill the snake on purpose. But the snake would be dead at the end of the day regardless.
Plus balls probably won't see the ferrets as prey anyway and wouldn't try feeding on them. They look and smell totally different from rats and mice. And they are already really picky with their food anyway.

Now if we are talking about other species of large constrictor, the snake would kill the ferrets in an instant. They're less picky in prey.

I was assuming itd be similar to the bp vs. ferret scenario. No jungle, no weapons just them two going at it in a 32qt tub. Rocky wins all day even if theres no referee.

I'd put my money on the Ferret killing the snake. Any weasel type animal is capable of being pretty vicious despite their small size. Since a BP's defense response is to curl into a ball when threatened it doesn't give me a lot of confidence that it would have any counter at all to an angry ferret.

Still, if the BP was allowed to call in a back stop from back home, the African Honey Badger would be a pretty solid hard counter!! :sabduel:
