To me, that is an ideal Mojave. I don't really care for what I call the "chocolate" Mojaves like the one from the Urban Python. My own female is deep black like the one you posted, and I love that about her. Been offered a pretty penny for her too, but she's not going anywhere. You just don't see as many of the black Mojaves as you do the brown ones, and I much prefer the black ones. I like what's different.

Mojaves are my absolute favorite base gene! Depending on the combo I like different qualities about them. I've got a lighter example myself, and I picked him specifically for a particular blushed out pastel female I liked. Once I can get a black pastel to my tastes (and a sable too, if there's room :D ) I'd love to get a darker/black example to use with them, like the one you posted. He definitely looks super bright, if there is anything else going on with him though it's a subtle clean up gene.

Personally, I'm loving the mojo you provided in the original post! Great find!
It's exactly what I want to see in my mojos. I love the high contrast between the dark blacks with the bright yellows. .
And that''s why my mojave has those characteristics too. haha

With that said i really do appreciate the responses and commentary as they are always helpful but I am not asking if you think this is an awesome Mojave simply because I like it, I'm asking if this snake is even a Mojave at all? I believe that it is but with the color that it has I'm wondering if anyone thinks something else is plugged into this snake?

The snake from the Urban Python link is very nice as well but it has far too much brown for me. For the longterm project I'm trying to unfold, a snake this brown wouldn't follow the plan

It's pretty bright for an adult mojave, and it is an interesting variation from the textbook mojaves. It's all about choosing the best example that you feel will fit into your breeding plans. With all the variations in any morph, it's difficult to say there's anything else going on with this one, but I don't see anything else offhand. Pastel would give it more blushing and a lighter head. Good luck, and thank you wholeheartedly for your service to our country.

thanks to everyone for the input. I was starting to think i was a minority in liking this morph to be bright, they are hard to find. Once my project gets rolling I will put it up after I get ahead lol. I don't know that it will work but I have to try. I appreciate your thanks Pirate, people like yourself who appreciate what they have and who helps provide it are the reason I still do this.

That a male or female in the picture you posted up?

If it were me, and it were a male, I'd set him up on a date with a pastel and see just how yellow of little babies you got.
