    hi and welcome. i was just like your mom until a month and a half ago. but i finally convinced myself that they are not all that bad. We got one and now i am addicted to them. THey are wonderful, beautiful. I really hope your mom lets you and tries to hold one she will love it. Good luck

    Welcome to the site!

    Do your research and show your mom the main things you find. Show her you have been doing the background work to make sure you know how to care for the snake. As for making her like them, that may never happen. My mom was always terrified of snakes, but she comes over to take care of my snakes if I'm gone. She has gotten much better about them and isn't nearly as afraid as she used to be!

    It will be ok! When I first asked my
    Mom about getting a ball python she said "hell no! About 12 snakes and 4 months later she got used to the idea and started handling them almost daily :)! Including a 8 1/2 foot Boa!

    I would agree that a pastel BP is probably the cheapest of the basic morphs. That being said, you may want to spend a bit more a get the spider or go even a little higher and pick up a male bumblebee. Go to some local shows and talk to breeders and tell them you situation and see if they might give you a little price break.
