    Ragnar Rocks. :D I love bullsnakes, they have more interesting personalities then many other species. They also process their food faster then other snakes so tend to be very messy, some of mine have seemed to enjoy smearing their feces all over the cage. Most of mine would eat anything I fed them at any time and they do seem to need more food then other snake species I've kept so their maintenance schedules have been higher with the extra feeding and cleaning. If it were me, I wouldn't use the sand substrate, it's very hard to keep clean, and while the chances are that nothing will happen, there is always the possibility of impaction while feeding on any particulate substrate.

    Good luck with him, I'm sure you'll enjoy him very much.
