I've read through a lot of the stickies. but yes i plan to keep studying about it. sometimes you can understand things better having a conversation with someone then just reading a thread though which is why i came here to ask. the morphs are what really confuse me because there are so many and i dont know much about them but im starting to get the hang of it

Not unless you have a business and it's your income.
If you vend at a show, they will require a temporary day license.

And I suggest contacting someone to mentor you through the breeding process.
It's really the best way to learn aside from literature.

Sometimes you run across someone willing to help you learn, other times you will run across someone who doesn't want to teach you anything. But people here have been very nice and often very willing to share experience and knowledge. You simply just have to ask, then pay it forward to the next newcomer you come across.

You should probably get one snake and see how it goes. If you just go dump money into a rack and 15 snakes to start you might quickly decide that you don't like to clean poop and change water for 15 snakes every day. Plus it's easier to learn this stuff and get husbandry down while you only have one snake. If husbandry is off on a bunch of animals and they all come down with respiratory infections your vet bill might put you in the poor house.

A lot of good advice so far. I agree that it will benefit you to own a ball python, get lots of advice from this community (we're friendly :P), and continue to learn about morphs, care, potential health issues, breeding tips, and what to expect! You won't learn everything in 1 conversation ;)!

I would start by doing what Kaorte said. Get yourself 1 baby female ball python to raise to adulthood. You will learn about her feeding habits, experience their growth, and if anything should happen, you can gain exp from keeping her. After a year with her, you could pick up a male (most likely a morph male and female haha), then after another year raising him up, they'll both most likely be breedable! Then you can determine if you still want to breed, and what you want to breed :gj:.
