See I thaw out for My JCP also(med rat) she gets feed first and literal waits till I am done with feedings before she goes into her hide. Just to make sure there's no seconds for her.

Re: How many times will you refreeze frozen / thawed?
At home, if the snakes don't eat their F/T first time around, I offer it to the skinks (I use F/T mice) or just throw them away. No refreezing here, I might refreeze meat that I left in my fridge to thaw but the feeder rodents are heated all the way up. I wouldn't eat food I'd thawed to room temp and left out for a couple hours, and I wouldn't offer it to my snakes in that condition either. Maybe I'm a little paranoid, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

In the stores it's the same situation - we don't refreeze, but there is always something else here that can be fed, so it's not really much of an issue.

I don't have to re-freeze. If one refuses, one of the others is always happy for seconds...

    I never re-freeze.

If It doesn't get eaten by the snake it's meant for, I may try to feed to another.

If a feeder doesn't get eaten, it gets trashed.

Once, but only if it hasn't sat out for long or been heated up. I won't refreeze anything that's likely to start spoiling.

When I have an uneaten rodent I never refreeze. Its usually only a rat here and there. Id rather pay for an extra rat than feed them a twice thawed and heated rat.

Re: How many times will you refreeze frozen / thawed?
I've found it somewhat depends on how you thaw it. If you leave it sitting out at room temp and it thaws, it stays pretty firm and I've thawed and refroze at least 2x for those.

But if you thaw using a hot water bath, it thaws more quickly and seems to get squishy, and if its bad enough, I won't refreeze those, but if it isn't too bad, then maybe 1 refreeze.

I usually just go by what it feels like once it is thawed. The firmer the better.

The only one that has refused is the BP, so anymore I wait to see if she'll eat, and if she doesn't, then it goes to my big corn. But, that won't last for much longer because the BP is just so much bigger.
