Unexpected first tegu. Help?

Yeah, im 90% sure it is columbian. Dang it.

On the plus side, you won't need as large an enclosure and it won't sleep 60% of it's life! I've never worked with columbians personally but they seem like pretty groovy lizards.

100% Colombian, in time and with handling they can be just as calm as the other tegus. They are not strictly carnivores, but omnivores some of them actually like and readily accept fruits and some vegetables, with out mixing them in meat. The loreal scales mean nothing, some have one scale on one side and two on the other.

If you notice my comments I used words such as generally, usually and most; for of course, as with most "rules", there are exceptions. Also, I wouldn't say loreal scales mean nothing. Sure you can find columbians with two but the vast majority have only the one on either side. I do concede though, there are better indicators as to which species you're dealing with, which is why I made it a point to mention scale texture.
