If you're not prepared for 15+ foot snake in a few years, retics are not a good choice for you. Aside from the basic logistical concerns (huge cage, expensive food budget), keeping an animal that large requires knowledge of how to handle it safely, because it is stronger and faster than you. It's generally best to have 2 or more people involved, and even then it can be awkward and/or dangerous if the snake isn't in a mood to cooperate.

A reticulated python is NOT a snake you want to jump into. I highly suggest working with a breeder of HUGE snakes for months before even considering it. Please do our hobby a favor and don't jump into retics.

Please, do not buy this snake unless you have done TONS of research and know what you are getting yourself into. Buying a Retic isn't something you should take very lightly. These are very large, very powerful animals when they mature. Think about what you'd be getting yourself into. Can you handle it? Can you provide it with a proper enclosure (it could grow to be 25 feet and weight 130 lbs!) throughout the rest of it's life (which, btw, can be 25-30 years), can you provide it with the proper amount of food (Expect to be feeding rabbits, guinea pigs and quite possibly piglets in adulthood)? I definitely don't want to sound like a negative nelly, but I also don't want you to purchase a snake that you will have to find a new home for in a year or two because you didn't think through your purchase. :(

Wow, the only similarity between ball pythons and reticulated pythons is the fact that they're both pythons. There are a lot of HUGE differences between the two, size being one of the very big differences....

This is me and a NOT full grown female retic. Be aware I had three grown men in the room with me, and less than half of her is pictured. I'm not a tiny girl, I'm 5'6 and 135 lbs.

It's more like "holy crap I'm sweating just holding her!" face haha. She was MUCH heavier than I anticipated. They actually got a video of me holder her alone, she decided to wrap her tail end around my legs and I almost fell over. She was sweet as pie but MAN are they strong!!
